Nana Fofie Bashir brings over 25 years of community and organizational leadership in healing arts and social justice to her dual role as director and expressive arts therapist at the Institute for Ashé Movement. Since 2015, Nana Fofie has served as principle consultant and facilitator at Wisdom’s Ladder, focusing her experience and skillset on cultivating and expanding visions, strategies, and wellness in marginalized communities. Nana is also a founding partner of Wind & Warrior, a collaborative that creates and guides programs and retreat spaces for artists, activists, spiritualists, and healer-practitioners to co-learn and integrate indigenous and ancestral traditions and cultural arts for greater impact of healing and justice work.
A spiritualist, therapist, and healing practitioner trained in the Akom tradition of West Africa, Nana Fofie is passionate about honoring curiosity and the (re)integration of art, cultural practices, and indigenous knowledge into present healing and future visioning.
